Michael Mullery was Captain of Companies K & I with the 7th New Jersey Infantry. We have no record of his enlistment date, but he was appointed First Lieutenant on July 21 1862, and then 2nd Lieutenant on Jan. 13 1863. He became Captain of Company I on July 24 1863 after being wounded at Gettysburg. Unfortunately, the young Captain was killed a year later during the Battle of Petersburg at the age of 21.

He is buried in the Mullery family plot in Warwick Cemetery in Warwick, NY.
