Andrew Jackson was a member of the 22nd United States Colored Troops that was mustered in Philadelphia in 1864. While little is known of Jackson beyond his tombstone, we can surmise based off records of the USCT, that he was among the troops that entered Richmond at the fall of the Confederacy, and escorted Lincoln to the Confederate White house. He would have been 53 when he joined the 22nd.

He survived the war, passing away On May 16, 1907 at the age of 96. He is buried in the newly named, Buffalo Soldiers U.S. Colored Troops Memorial Cemetery in Franklinville, NJ.
